Speed Camera Locations

May03

One of the hardest things about driving in the UK is avoiding speeding tickets. In the past, it was easy to avoid the policemen who were the only authority on speeding, and who could use their speed guns to see how fast you were going. This allowed you to be able to avoid them using lots of different strategies. However, in the recent past, speed cameras have become more and more popular.

Speed cameras are cameras that clock your speed as you travel beneath them or alongside them. These are cameras that take both digital pictures and film pictures, and they do so in a way that the speed can be recognized and that the car itself can be recognized. When the pictures are then seen by the police, they can tell which cars have been speeding, and they can issue tickets to the registration holders of those cars. Therefore, it is almost impossible to avoid all of the speed cameras in the UK. But, knowing a little bit about the various speed camera locations might be something that you can do to help yourself avoid them whenever possible.

There are many different speed camera locations that you might need to think about so that you can avoid running into the speed cameras, and so that you can avoid needing to take too much time in order to avoid the areas where the cameras are. The first thing to do is to recognize the types of cameras so you can notice them.

The Static Gatso is a camera that takes pictures of the back of your automobile. IT is often found near bridges and on motorways. Sometimes it is hidden behind signs. The boxes are usually grey, but many have been painted in bright colours. These cameras take photographs as you drive past. There are also mini or mobile Gatsos which are hidden in mobile units like vans. These are quite difficult to see, and cannot be detected by radar units like the other gatsos can be.

Because the Gatsos take photographs of the back of your car, it is often hard to tell who is driving, and some drivers find that they are able to get out of the tickets in that manner. However, the Truvelo is a camera that takes a picture of the front of your automobile, which means that it can also take a picture of the driver. These cameras are often found on bridges and near roadways, and can be easily spotted. There is no flash that is omitted with these cameras, which makes them much harder to spot in  many locations.

Another type of camera is Digital Specs. These are cameras that take digital film, so they are almost always operational, unlike the other cameras that will run out of film an be nonoperational much of the time. These are the cameras that actually use point to point surveillance to see how fast you were going. They might take a picture at a various location, and they might be able to show that you were doing a different speed from one location to the other, simply by finding out how much time it took you to get form one place to another. This is one of the main ways that you are able to be caught speeding. These are usually found at the beginning of the motorways, and can also be found at various points between areas. This means that if you travel from one place to another on the motorway, you are going to need to stay at your current speed, or you will get caught by these cameras.

Lastly, there are the speed guns that are used by the police. These are often the most difficult to fight as well as to find in the first place, because they could be anywhere and they aren’t cameras but are actual speed guns. This means that a policeman can catch you going much faster and can give you a ticket.

It is often difficult to avoid speed cameras simply by knowing their location, as mobile units make it difficult to know where each of them might be.
